Parent to Parent of Georgia's
Regional Trainer Positions
Are you a parent or family member of a child with a disability or a professional interested in working with families? Are you looking for a position that allows you to work with flexible hours, where you can help families become advocates for their children? If so, Parent to Parent needs you as a Trainer.
Parent to Parent of Georgia (P2P) is currently putting together its training schedule for the 2008-2009 school year. We plan to conduct, as a minimum, per region:
- 10-15 Foundation sessions (1-2 hour introductory style courses)
- 3 Workshops (3-4 hour trainings)
- 2 Intensives (6-8 hour in-depth training)
We are actively seeking qualified trainers to assist us with
delivering these training sessions. Trainers are needed across the
state to serve a specific region.
A primary responsibility of a trainer is to understand the vision,
mission and value statement of Parent to Parent of Georgia and be
able to convey information in a professional and positive manner.
All necessary training materials will be provided by P2P, including
the presentation, handouts, promotional flyers, and evaluations.
You will be responsible for maintaining mastery of appropriate
training content.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in education, adult education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience working with people who have developmental disabilities (volunteer experience acceptable)
- Must demonstrate/posses skills necessary for presenting effective training experiences
Preference given to candidates with training experience
Flexible hours, work on an as needed basis. Travel will be
