Waiver Programs Available in Georgia

There are currently several waiver programs in Georgia that enable a person to receive home-based services.  Because Federal and State money for long-term health services for people with low incomes typically goes to institutions like nursing homes, a person who needs help with personal support and/or nursing care for daily living tasks must get a "waiver" ("exception") if he or she wants the care given at home.  A person's situation has to match the requirements of a particular waiver in order to get that waiver's services.
